St Mary's Medical Clinic in Mosta is an authorised clinic for work permit health screening in Malta. Under the online system introduced in May 2026, the employer or HR representative starts the application, and we complete the medical section and upload the required medical documentation.

Jump to the section that applies to you. Both routes are set out below, each with its own process, requirements and pricing.
St Mary's can help with three common applicant routes. Work permit applications now use the online employer-led portal, while foreign students and family reunification applicants continue to use the current HPDP physical health-screening forms.
Your employer or HR representative opens the online case first. You then attend St Mary's for the medical requirements shown for your application.
Foreign students aged 18+ studying in Malta for more than 3 months use the current student health-screening form, completed through a private clinic.
TCNs applying under family reunification use the current HPDP family-reunification form. Requirements differ according to age and TB-risk history.
Bring the documents relevant to your application route. All medical and vaccination documentation submitted for health screening should be in English.
Bring your passport/identification and the details of the application or physical health-screening form that applies to you.
Bring official vaccination records. For family reunification, records should be translated into English and hard copies are required where specified by HPDP.
Bring any relevant blood-test or chest X-ray reports already requested for the application. Work-permit investigations must be carried out locally in Malta.
Work-permit applicants need the employer-opened online case. Students and family-reunification applicants should use the current HPDP physical form for their category.
For first-time work permits, the current 2026 HPDP rules depend on occupation, sex, vaccination evidence and TB-risk history. We check the final requirement against your case.
Foreign students aged 18 or over studying in Malta for more than 3 months require health screening at a private clinic. Unlike work permits, this route currently uses the applicable HPDP student form.
Low-TB-risk students complete the vaccination section and attach their vaccination card. High/very-high-risk students additionally require a chest X-ray report.
Healthcare-profession students require Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C testing/vaccination documentation. Current forms specify HBsAg and Hepatitis C antibody testing, with the vaccination card and blood results attached.
Students in the relevant TB-risk category must also complete the chest X-ray section and attach the report. The current healthcare-student form specifies a locally performed chest X-ray within 6 weeks.
Family reunification screening is normally carried out once. Adults use the current HPDP physical health-screening form; requirements differ for low-risk and high/very-high-TB-risk applicants.
Adults require Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio protection; Rubella is mandatory for females. If vaccination records are unavailable, current HPDP guidance requires the indicated booster dose.
Adults from the relevant TB-risk countries require a chest X-ray performed in Malta. Foreign chest X-ray reports are not accepted for this route.
Children require age-appropriate vaccination records including Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio. Rubella is mandatory for girls by age 13; MMR is used because Rubella vaccine is not available alone. Additional child screening is coordinated by the Health Screening Unit where applicable.
Our published core prices are shown below. Vaccines and blood investigations are charged according to what your specific screening route requires.

For a work permit there is no paper form to collect. Your employer opens the online application and uploads the signed Employee–Employer Declaration Consent Form and your passport biopage. Foreign students and family-reunification applicants use the current HPDP physical health-screening form for their category.

Chest X-ray requirements depend on the current TB-risk criteria and the applicant's country/residence history. We verify this as part of the screening process.
Employees should bring official vaccination documentation so the clinic can determine what is already documented and what may still be required.
