Microneedling and radiofrequency work together

Fine needles enter the skin while radiofrequency energy is delivered at controlled depths. The aim is to stimulate tissue remodelling and improve selected texture, scarring and laxity concerns.

Texture

Fine lines & enlarged pores

RF microneedling may be considered where uneven texture and early signs of skin ageing are important concerns.

Scarring

Acne scars & stretch marks

Controlled microneedling can be planned at different depths according to the scar pattern and treatment area.

Tightening

Face & body laxity

The jawline, neck, abdomen, buttocks and thighs are among the areas we assess.

What it can treat

What RF microneedling can treat

Needle depth and energy are not selected from one universal setting. Scar depth, skin thickness, treatment area and downtime considerations all matter.

Depth + energy

One device, different treatment plans

Superficial texture concerns and deeper acne scars are not approached in exactly the same way. This is why assessment and treatment settings matter.

01

Acne scars

Selected depressed scars may be treated using controlled depth and energy according to scar pattern.

02

Enlarged pores & texture

Skin texture and pore appearance can be assessed as part of a broader rejuvenation plan.

03

Fine lines & laxity

Collagen remodelling may help selected patients seeking non-surgical improvement in skin firmness.

04

Stretch marks & body areas

We also treat stretch marks and selected body areas.

Procedure

What happens during an RF microneedling treatment

A typical session takes around 30–60 minutes. Topical numbing cream is used to improve comfort before treatment.

Assessment

We assess skin type, concern, treatment area, previous procedures and factors that could affect healing.

Numbing

Topical anaesthetic is applied before treatment according to the planned area.

Treatment

Fine needles enter the skin and radiofrequency energy is delivered at selected depths.

Recovery

Redness and swelling are common early effects. Patterned pigmentation can sometimes remain visible for longer.

Sessions & recovery

How many sessions you need, and what recovery looks like

A course is commonly 1–4 sessions, spaced around 4–6 weeks apart. We individualise this according to your response and the treatment goal.

Aftercare

Support the skin barrier

Use gentle skincare and follow the instructions given at your appointment. Sun protection is particularly important while the skin recovers.

Downtime

Recovery varies with treatment intensity

Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, temporary pigment change and other skin reactions can occur. Individual risk is discussed during consultation.

RF Microneedling FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about RF Microneedling

Settings, recovery and session number depend on the skin concern and treatment intensity rather than a single standard protocol.

01 Is RF microneedling painful?

Topical numbing cream is used before treatment. Sensation varies according to treatment depth, energy and area.

02 How long does a session take?

An RF microneedling session takes approximately 30–60 minutes depending on the area and concern.

03 How many sessions are needed?

A course is commonly around 1–4 sessions, often 4–6 weeks apart, and the plan is individualised to your skin concern and response.

04 What downtime should I expect?

Redness and swelling commonly occur. Patterned pigmentation can sometimes remain visible for 7–14 days.

05 What can RF microneedling treat?

Fine lines, skin laxity, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture and stretch marks are among the concerns we assess and treat.

06 Is sun protection important afterwards?

Yes. Gentle skincare and sun protection are important while the skin barrier recovers after microneedling.

07 Is RF microneedling the same as microneedling?

No. Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency energy, delivered at selected depths while the needles are in the skin, so both needle depth and energy are planned around the concern being treated.
