Mole, Skin Tag, Cyst & Lipoma Removal in Malta
Assessment and removal of selected moles, skin tags, cysts and lipomas at St Mary’s Medical Clinic in Mosta. Because these growths are not all the same, the first step is identifying what you have and choosing an appropriate treatment pathway.

Start with the diagnosis.
A mole, skin tag, cyst and lipoma can all appear as a lump or growth, but they arise from different tissues and are managed differently. We assess the lesion before deciding whether removal at our clinic is appropriate, which technique is suitable and whether tissue testing should be considered.

Location, size, depth, symptoms, changes over time and the clinical appearance all matter. A changing or unusual pigmented lesion needs assessment rather than being approached as a purely cosmetic removal.
Size, location, surface features and how the lesion or lump behaves.
Pain, irritation, bleeding, inflammation, drainage or repeated trauma where relevant.
Whether removal here is appropriate, which method is suitable and whether further testing is relevant.
Removal is tailored to the lesion.
Depending on what is being treated, options may include shave or surgical excision for selected moles, snip or other procedural removal for skin tags, excision of a cyst wall and contents, or surgical removal of a lipoma. The exact plan is confirmed after assessment.
Assess
Confirm what is being treated and whether removal is appropriate.
Plan
Choose the technique according to the lesion, site, size and clinical findings.
Remove
The procedure is performed using the agreed approach, with local anaesthetic when appropriate.
Aftercare
Receive wound-care and follow-up instructions specific to the procedure performed.
Recovery depends on what was removed.
A small superficial skin tag is different from a cyst or lipoma removed through an incision. Wound care, dressings, stitches and follow-up are therefore individual rather than identical across all four services.
Contact us if you develop concerns after treatment such as worsening pain, spreading redness, significant swelling, persistent bleeding or other symptoms you were not expecting.
Prices
Prices vary according to the type, size and complexity of the lesion. Lipoma pricing is confirmed after assessment because the procedure depends on its size, site and depth.
