Every tattoo behaves differently
We look at size, colours, density, age, location, skin characteristics and any previous tattoo removal before estimating a course.
Progressive laser treatment for unwanted tattoo pigment. We assess the tattoo first, then plan treatment around its size, colours, density, location, skin and the way the pigment responds over time.
Laser energy breaks tattoo pigment into smaller particles that can be gradually cleared. Tattoos respond differently because ink colour, depth, density and skin all matter. Black and dark inks generally respond fastest, because they absorb the widest range of laser light. Lighter colours such as yellow, white and some pastel shades absorb less of it, so they are the hardest to shift and can need more sessions.
We look at size, colours, density, age, location, skin characteristics and any previous tattoo removal before estimating a course.
Sessions can take around 15–60 minutes depending on the tattoo. Discomfort is commonly described as snapping or stinging.
The tattoo does not disappear on the day. Changes develop progressively between appointments as the area recovers.
Many tattoos need roughly 5–10 sessions, commonly spaced around 6–8 weeks apart. Some need fewer and some need more.
Re-treating too quickly is not the goal. The skin needs time to settle and pigment clearance continues between appointments.
We assess the tattoo and explain what can realistically be expected from the first stage of treatment.
Laser energy is delivered to selected pigment using settings chosen for the tattoo and skin.
The area is allowed to recover fully before further laser treatment is considered.
Further sessions are planned according to healing and the amount and type of pigment remaining.
Fading is the goal, and complete removal cannot be promised. Redness, swelling, blistering or scabbing can occur after a session. Residual pigment, temporary pigment change, texture change or scarring are also possible, and risk varies between tattoos and skin types.
Avoid picking, scratching and unnecessary rubbing. Follow the aftercare given at your appointment and protect the area from strong sun exposure.
Increasing pain, spreading redness, discharge or other concerning changes should be assessed rather than simply waiting for the next session.
Pricing is based on tattoo size. Consultation is €20.

Roughly 5–10 sessions is a common range, but the true number depends on tattoo and skin factors and cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Some tattoos clear very well while others retain pigment. We prefer to discuss likely fading rather than guarantee complete removal.
It can feel like snapping or stinging. Comfort measures can be discussed according to the area and session.
The skin needs time to recover and pigment clearance continues between sessions. The interval is generally around 6–8 weeks.
Scarring is possible. Careful treatment and aftercare aim to reduce risk, and pre-existing tattoo scarring may become more noticeable as pigment fades.
A new tattoo should only be considered after the skin has fully healed. Discuss timing with your practitioner and tattoo artist.
