Facial Fillers in Malta

Dermal filler treatment for selected areas of the face including cheeks, jawline, chin, under-eye hollows and facial folds. The aim is not simply to add volume, but to plan proportion, support and contour around your existing facial structure.

What are facial fillers?

Facial filler should support the face as a whole.

Treating one area changes how neighbouring features are perceived. A good facial filler plan therefore starts with the face as a whole: where support has been lost, where definition is wanted and where additional volume would not help.

What can facial filler be used for?

We use facial filler to restore selected areas of lost volume, soften certain folds and improve facial contour. The exact filler and amount depend on the area, your anatomy and the result we are aiming for.

Restore

Replace selected volume loss

Cheek and midface treatment can be considered where age-related or constitutional volume loss affects facial support.

Define

Shape facial contours

Jawline and chin filler can add definition or help improve facial proportion in selected patients.

Soften

Reduce the appearance of hollows or folds

Selected under-eye hollows and nasolabial or marionette folds may be considered after assessment.

From facial assessment to injection.

Facial fillers should be planned according to anatomy and the intended change, not by choosing a millilitre amount first.

01 · Assess

Look at the whole face

Proportion, asymmetry, volume loss, skin quality and your priorities are reviewed.

02 · Plan

Choose areas & product

The practitioner decides where filler may help and whether the desired result is realistic.

03 · Treat

Inject targeted areas

Filler is placed with a needle or cannula depending on the area, product and technique.

04 · Review

Allow swelling to settle

Some change is immediate, but final assessment should wait until early swelling has reduced.

Recovery & realistic expectations.

Most facial filler treatments involve limited downtime, but the first few days can include swelling, tenderness, redness or bruising. Results and duration differ between areas and products.

Early recovery

Expect the face to settle.

Immediate volume is visible, but swelling can temporarily exaggerate the result. Avoid pressing or manipulating treated areas unless your practitioner specifically instructs you to.

Swelling Bruising Tenderness Redness
Duration

There is no single expiry date.

We generally advise that facial filler can last around 6–18 months, but longevity depends on the treatment area, filler type, dose and individual metabolism. Maintenance should be based on appearance and assessment rather than a fixed calendar.

Facial Fillers FAQ

Common questions

Filler selection, quantity and treatment area should be decided after assessment rather than from a standard package.

01 What areas of the face can be treated?

We can treat areas including the cheeks, jawline, chin, under-eye hollows and selected facial folds where appropriate after assessment.

02 How much filler will I need?

There is no reliable amount without assessment. The required volume depends on the area, existing anatomy, the type of change wanted and the product used.

03 How long do facial fillers last?

We generally advise approximately 6–18 months as a broad guide, but duration differs by treatment area, product and individual metabolism.

04 Do facial fillers hurt?

Numbing cream may be used and some filler products contain local anaesthetic. Sensation varies with treatment area and technique.

05 Are fillers reversible?

Hyaluronic-acid fillers can generally be treated with hyaluronidase when clinically appropriate. Radiesse is not a hyaluronic-acid filler and is not dissolved in the same way.

06 What side effects are common?

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising are common possibilities after injection.

07 When should I seek urgent advice?

Severe or increasing pain, marked blanching or mottled skin colour, cold skin or visual symptoms after filler require urgent clinical assessment because vascular complications, although rare, can be serious.

08 Should I stop aspirin or blood thinners before filler?

Do not stop prescribed aspirin, anticoagulants or other prescribed medication on your own. Tell the practitioner what you take and discuss any medication changes with weian who prescribed them.
