How waxing works

Waxing removes hair from the root rather than cutting it at skin level. Hair length, skin sensitivity and aftercare all influence the treatment experience.
Wax is applied in sections.
The technique changes with the treatment area and hair characteristics, rather than treating every part of the body in exactly the same way.
Temporary redness can happen.
Freshly waxed skin can feel warm or look pink. The priority afterwards is reducing heat, friction and unnecessary irritation while the skin settles.

After settling
Gentle moisturising and later exfoliation may help reduce dryness and ingrown hairs, depending on the area and your skin.

Timing depends on regrowth. Many patients return around every 3–4 weeks, but there is no need to follow a fixed schedule.
06 Can waxing cause ingrown hairs?
Yes. Ingrown hairs can occur after root hair removal. Once the skin has settled, appropriate gentle exfoliation may help some patients.
