Forehead lines
Horizontal expression lines caused by repeated elevation of the brows.
Aesthetic Botox (botulinum toxin) treatment for expression lines and selected facial concerns. We plan treatment around your facial movement rather than treating every line the same way, with the aim of softening targeted muscle activity while keeping the result balanced and natural-looking.
The position, strength and interaction of facial muscles differ from person to person. During assessment we decide which muscles are contributing to the concern, whether Botox is appropriate and how much movement we want to preserve.
Illustrative treatment zones. Exact injection points and dosing are decided after facial assessment.
Horizontal expression lines caused by repeated elevation of the brows.
Vertical lines between the brows associated with repeated frowning and muscle activity.
Expression lines around the outer corners of the eyes that become more visible when smiling.
Masseter Botox may be considered for selected patients where these muscles are prominent, or where jaw tension or facial contour is the concern.
Small targeted doses of Botox may be used around the mouth for a lip flip or selected smile concerns.
Lower-face Botox can be considered when muscle activity contributes to dimpling or fine dynamic lines.
Botox is a brand name for botulinum toxin. Small amounts are injected into selected muscles to reduce the nerve signal that triggers contraction. The effect develops gradually rather than instantly and is temporary.
Botox works best for lines and concerns driven by muscle activity. Lines that remain deeply visible at rest may also reflect skin quality and volume loss.
The goal is not simply to use the maximum dose. Your Botox treatment is planned around anatomy, muscle strength, symmetry and the amount of movement you want to retain.
As the effect wears off, treated muscles gradually regain activity. How long Botox lasts varies between patients, treatment areas and doses.
A static photograph does not show the full treatment picture. We assess expression, symmetry and resting position, review your medical history and medications, and discuss what you want Botox to change.
We may ask you to frown, raise your eyebrows, smile or clench your jaw depending on the area being considered. This helps us identify which muscles are contributing and whether treatment could create an unwanted imbalance elsewhere.
Tell us about prescribed medicines, supplements, previous botulinum toxin treatments, neurological or muscular conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any previous reaction to injectable treatments. Do not stop prescribed medication unless your prescriber advises you to do so.
The injection stage is typically brief. The consultation and marking are important because placement determines which muscle activity is reduced and how surrounding muscles interact afterwards.
We review the area, facial movement, medical history and expected outcome before deciding whether to proceed.
Treatment points and dosing are selected according to the indication and your individual anatomy.
Small injections are placed into targeted muscles. The Botox treatment itself commonly takes around 10–20 minutes depending on the number of areas.
The effect develops over the following days. A review may be appropriate when we need to assess symmetry or the final response once the treatment has taken effect.
Patients often begin to notice a change within several days, with the effect becoming clearer over roughly the first two weeks. We do not describe the duration as guaranteed because response and longevity vary.
Temporary redness, small bumps, tenderness or bruising may occur around injection points.
The effect is not immediate. Treated muscles gradually become less active over the days following treatment.
Final assessment is more meaningful once the treatment has had time to develop rather than immediately after injection.
Follow the instructions given at your appointment. We generally advise avoiding unnecessary rubbing or massage of the treated areas immediately afterwards and avoiding strenuous exercise for the early post-treatment period.
Bruising, swelling, headache or temporary asymmetry can occur. Depending on the treatment area, unwanted weakness of nearby muscles can also occur. We discuss area-specific risks during consultation.
The 1-area and 3-area options are shown separately from individual treatment-area pricing. Final treatment planning depends on consultation, facial anatomy and the dose required.
For patients treating a specific aesthetic area rather than using the multi-area option.
Medical botulinum toxin has its own page, where the conditions treated and what assessment involves are explained separately from aesthetic treatment.
Botox at Redefine is provided by Dr Frank Farrugia and Mr Andrei Farrugia.
Consultation and treatment planning focus on indication, anatomy, movement and realistic expectations before treatment.

These answers are general information. The treatment plan, dose, expected effect and area-specific risks are discussed during consultation.
Not necessarily. The amount of movement retained depends on which muscles are treated and the dose used. We plan the treatment around the desired balance rather than aiming to remove all movement.
The effect develops gradually. Many patients notice a change over the first several days, with the result becoming clearer over roughly 10–14 days.
Botulinum toxin is temporary. Duration varies according to the treatment area, dose, muscle activity and individual response, so we do not promise a fixed duration.
Do not stop prescribed medication simply for an aesthetic appointment. Tell us what you take during consultation so that we can discuss bruising risk and whether any advice from your prescriber is needed.
It may soften lines where repeated muscle movement is contributing, but static lines can also reflect skin quality or volume loss. Other treatments may sometimes be discussed alongside or instead of Botox.
The effect wears off gradually and treated muscles regain movement. You are not required to continue treatment on a fixed schedule.
No. Masseter and jawline treatment has different anatomical goals from upper-face wrinkle treatment. Suitability and dosing therefore need a separate assessment.
Bruising, swelling, headache or temporary asymmetry can occur. Depending on the treatment area, unwanted weakness of nearby muscles can also occur. Most effects are temporary, but treatment is not risk-free, and we discuss area-specific risks during consultation.
Follow the instructions given at your appointment. We generally advise avoiding unnecessary rubbing or massage of the treated areas immediately afterwards and avoiding strenuous exercise for the early post-treatment period.
Botox is priced by area, and the full price list is on this page. The multi-area options are €120 for one area and €230 for three. For patients treating one specific area rather than using the multi-area option, individual areas are priced separately, from €80 for a lip flip or chin up to €150 for the forehead or jawline. The final cost is confirmed at consultation once the areas and dose are agreed.
They treat different causes. Botox reduces muscle activity, so it works on lines driven by movement. Dermal fillers add volume, so they address concerns caused by volume loss rather than movement. Some concerns involve both, which is why we assess expression and resting position at consultation. Dermal fillers have their own page.
Yes. Medical botulinum toxin has its own Medical Botox page, which covers treatment for excessive sweating and chronic migraine.
